The ceremony organised
The ceremony organised by the One o’ Clock Gun & Time Ball Association and the Edinburgh / San Diego Sister City Association to mark the death of the San Diego dog takes place this Wednesday, 10th November.
A similar ceremony will take place simultaneously at Bum’s statue in the Gaslamp pocket park, William Heath Davis House museum, San Diego.
The Californian canine sits guarding the gates at West Princes Street Gardens. Check out Bum's story on the ‘Famous Dogs’ section: www.greyfriarsbobby.co.uk.
The ceremony which will be attended by the Lord Provost of the City of Edinburgh will start at one o’ clock after the District Gunner, Sergeant Shannon fires the One o’ Clock Gun. OCGTA’s official mascot Bombardier Blue will be on parade wearing his stripes for the first time.
The committee would like to thank John C. Wilson the chairman of the Edinburgh / San Diego Sister Association who was responsible for Bum’s statue being set up in Edinburgh for his invaluable help in organising the ceremony.
