Brian McKenzie lives with his wife Stella at South Queensferry, West Lothian. Brian who was born in North Berwick, East Lothian enlisted in the RAF straight from school. During his career he was stationed in Madagascar and Kenya.

The Secretary and Treasurer had a first class meeting with an advisor at EVOC’s HQ last week. The Edinburgh Voluntary Organisations Council is fully behind the Association and is liasing with OSCR to help process our application for charitable funding status.

We also received a letter this week from Sarah Boyack MSP confirming her support for the  Association’s activities. John and Ellen Thomson have now returned to Canada. Ellen was unfortunately confined to her hotel room during her stay with a bad cold which may have been due to a jet of cold air from a vent on the aircraft during the journey over.

Before the couple left to return home, the Association presented Ellen with a model of the Greyfriars Bobby pub.

The Nelson Monument time ball project is still on schedule although the mast and a number of the bolts will have to be replaced.
