Generous donation
The One o’Clock Gun & Time Ball Association has received a generous donation from Regimental Command Group in recognition of the members' exceptional work over the last year and to ensure that the organisation remains financially viable.
The recommendation was put forward by Lieutenant Colonel Chris Huthwaite the Commanding Officer of 105th Regt RA (V). The donation is a tremendous morale booster for the committee and members as the organisation's future did not look too bright a few years ago.
The scene quickly changed when our mascot Bombardier Blue turned up followed by Lieutenant Colonel Huthwaite who took over command of 105th Regt. RA (V). Since then the Association has moved forward at Light Infantry pace.
In addition to thanking the Royal Artillery Council of Scotland, Historic Scotland and the City of Edinburgh Council, we would like to thank Edinburgh World Heritage who are always on hand to help with advice.
This week’s photograph courtesy of the Army Press Department shows Brian McKenzie, Chairman of the One o’ Clock Gun & Time Ball Association and Lieutenant Colonel Huthwaite leaving Greyfriars Kirk on Greyfriars Bobby’s Memorial Day last January with Bombardier Blue the Association's lucky mascot.
