The opening of the ‘James Ritchie & Son 1809-2009 ’ exhibition
The opening of the ‘James Ritchie & Son 1809-2009 ’ exhibition went very well. In addition to the managing director Alan Wilson, a few of the firm’s former employees attended the opening.
One o’ Clock Gun & Time Ball Association member D.R. Watt whose mother belonged to the Ritchie family was also present.
Sarah Boyack MSP in her introduction said that she was surprised that this was the first time an exhibition featuring the firm had been set up as ‘Clockie’ Ritchie’s had such a famous history.
The Association’s hardworking catering team’s first class buffet was much appreciated by the guests. Each guest was presented with a commemorative pen to mark the occasion.
The Central Library staff were totally helpful as usual in addition to joining in the spirit of the occasion.
The firm has produced an attractive Commemorative clock to mark it’s 200th anniversary. Details can be found on the company’s website: info@jamesritchiecclockmakers.com
