The festive season
The festive season is now under way in the Scottish capital. The Christmas tree has been set up in the Grassmarket.
If you’re planning a visit and are interested in the city’s history, it’s worth popping into Edinburgh Books at 145-147 West Port.
In addition to music sheets and prints, the shop is packed with secondhand and antiquarian books. The Edinburgh section is second to none and the prices reasonable.
This week’s photograph shows Struan owned by William Lytle the proprietor, guarding the shop.
The bookshop is situated across from the city’s sheep and cattle market featured in Eleanor Atkinson’s novel ‘Greyfriars Bobby’. Check out www.edinburghbooks.net
