2011 proved to be another very good year

2011 proved to be another very good year for the One o’ Clock Gun & Time Ball Association.
The re-enactment of the first firing of the time-gun held on the Half Moon Battery was a success despite the wet weather.
In addition to our mascot Bombardier Blue appearing on television to plug the time-gun’s 150th anniverary, the year ended with the highly successful One o’ Clock Gun Children’s Painting Competition.
This year we will be working closely with the members of the Edinburgh Astronomical Society of Edinburgh as the emphasis will focus on the City Observatory on the Calton Hill.
The committee would like to thank Lt. Colonel Huthwaite and the members of 105th Regt. RA (V) plus Historic Scotland for the first class support they have given us.
This week’s photograph taken by Captain Alan Clayton shows the time-gun being fired during the re-enactment.
All the best for 2012 Brian McKenzie Chairman One o’ Clock Gun & Time Ball Association
