Michael Connarty MP who opened

Michael Connarty MPMichael Connarty MP who opened the ‘Colour Sergeant Scott & Greyfriars Bobby’ exhibition at Linlithgow Library last Saturday is not only a historian, but a fan of Eleanor Atkinson’s novel featuring the world famous dog.

Our Chairman Brian McKenzie and Blue, accompanied by Pipe Major Anderson announced the opening of the exhibition to the Royal Burgh's residents by marching from the Kirkgate to the Library, pipes skirling.

Our Chairman’s wife Stella McKenzie and Kit Lovie the Association's catering manager produced a first class buffet as usual which was much appreciated by the guests and Library staff. In addition to Michael Connarty MP and the Library Staff, we would like to thank Elizabeth Henderson, West Lothian’s Museums Officer who came along with her husband on her day off to check that the opening went well.

The exhibition runs until April 17th before moving on to Prestonpans Library in East Lothian. The photograph taken by John Lovie shows Michael Connarty MP persuading Blue our mascot to vote Labour in May.

Historian Adrian Tinniswood will be giving a lecture on ‘The Pirates of Barbary’ aboard HM Frigate Unicorn’, Dundee on Friday 23rd April at 6.30 pm. A ticket for the lecture, buffet supper and wine costs £35. Tickets for this entertaining night out are available from Mrs Michael Smyth 01575 540 375 vivienlye@hotmail.com
