Exhibition was opened at Prestonpans Library

memorialThe Association’s ‘Colour Sergeant Scott & Greyfriars Bobby’ exhibition was opened at Prestonpans Library, East Lothian by Iain Gray MSP last Saturday.

To advertise the event, our Chairman Brian McKenzie with our mascot Blue and Pipe Major Anderson marched from the town's war memorial in the main street to the Library.

The photographers from the ‘East Lothian Courier’ and ‘The East Lothian News’ were on hand to record the opening. In his opening speech Iain who was accompanied by his wife emphasised the importance of Greyfriars Bobby and the One o’ Clock Gun to the capital’s history.

We would like to thank Erica and the Library staff for their assistance in setting up the display.

The photograph of the memorial erected in 1922 portraying a Royal Scots infantryman in World War One uniform was taken by John Lovie.
