Pipe Major Bob Anderson

pipe majorPipe Major Bob Anderson the Association’s piper has received the good news that the operation on his hand has been successful. The photograph shows Pipe Major Anderson playing at the ceremony to launch the Royal Regiment of Scotland exhibition at the Central Library, Edinburgh.

Permission has now been received from the Lothian & Borders Police Events unit to hold an event to mark World Animal Day on Sunday 4th October. Along with Brian McKenzie and Blue the Association’s mascot, Bob will be leading the Walk from King’s Stables Road via the Grassmarket to Greyfriars Kirk.

The meeting last Thursday with Lorna McEwan and Jennifer Roxburgh of Historic Scotland’s Interpretation Unit went well.

There’s to be an official ceremony to mark the refurbishment of the One o’clock Gun Exhibition possibly in October.

Jen has applied for permission for Blue to cross the drawbridge as only guide dogs are allowed into the fortress.
