The Parks Department

The Parks Department of Edinburgh City Council has approved the Association’s proposal to hold a Floral Clock Day on 10th June 2011.

The event will be held at the Floral Clock, Princes Street Gardens at one o’ clock followed by a reception at James Ritchie & Son (watch and clockmaker) 35A Dundas Street, Edinburgh.

The cuckoo carved by George Robertson who worked for Thomas Good, Ramsay Garden was added in 1952. His son Tommy Robertson the owner of Backtracks Music Shop www.backtracksmusic.co.uk is also a disc jockey.

When Tommy goes to a gig, the Mad Hatter goes with him. When the Mad Hatter’s not traveling around the town he can be seen waiting for a bus outside Backtracks, Brougham Street, Tollcross, Edinburgh.

The North Berwick Highland Games takes place on 7th August. This year’s Chieftain is Angus Tulloch, Chairman of East Lothian Pipes and Drums.
