This week’s photograph

piperThis week’s photograph shows Jonathon Simpson one of the four pipers provided by Reel Time Events to welcome visitors to Edinburgh Castle, play on the ramparts and pipe the District Gunner as he marches across the Mills Mount Battery to fire the time gun at one o’clock (check out roddythepiper).

Jonathon who plays with Boghall & Bathgate Caledonia Pipe Band has played at events all over the world visiting countries such as Belgium, Canada, Japan, Russia and Switzerland.

If you’ve a wedding or special event coming up and are looking for a piper contact Reel Time Events: events@reel-time.co.uk.

The testing of the time ball on Thursday 27th August was successful. The time ball slid gracefully down the mast while the mechanism operates like clockwork.

The scaffolding on the tower has nearly been dismantled and work on the Monument should be finished by the middle of September.
