The presentation
The presentation of the prizes to the winners of the One o’ Clock Gun Children’s Painting Competition went like clockwork.
Sarah Boyack MSP arrived bang on time at the One o’ Clock Gun Exhibition on the Mills Mount Battery. One by one starting with Lachlan Rowley, the winners from Cramond Primary School, Currie Primary School, Dalry Primary School, St. Ninian’s Primary School, Ratho Primary School and the Royal Mile Primary School climbed the stairs to receive their book tokens and certificates of merit from Sarah.
John Fardell who picked the winners unfortunately could not make it and sent his apologies.
The winners from St. Margaret’s Primary School and Heriot’s Nursery School were also missing but we hope to arrange a special presentation for them when they return to school after the holidays.
The artwork was displayed at the Bank of Scotland at the corner of the Lawnmarket and George IV thanks to the manager Keith Mackay who was also present.
The committee would like to thank Historic Scotland’s staff at Edinburgh Castle for their help in organising the presentation.
This week’s photograph shows little Lachlan receiving his book token and certificate from Sarah.
