World Animal Day
World Animal Day is only a few weeks away. Animal lovers wishing to take part in the Greyfriars Bobby Walk are invited to dress in Victorian costume, bring their pets and assemble at Bum’s statue in Princes Street Gardens at 1.30 pm on Sunday 4th October.
Brian McKenzie our Chairman dressed as Colour Sergeant Scott R.E. accompanied by our mascot Blue and Pipe Major Anderson our official piper will lead the procession to Greyfriars Bobby’s memorial stone in Greyfriars Kirkyard via the Grassmarket and Candlemaker Row.
This is the first time World Animal Day has been celebrated in Scotland. We’ve received the news that David Rintoul one of the One o' Clock Gun & Time Ball Association’s staunchest supporters has been awarded the Sir William Y. Darling Award for Good Citizenship.
The award will be presented to David at the City Chambers on Tuesday, 8th September.
